Controller

We're seeking a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys partnering with operations, and has a strong background in manufacturing accounting and cost accounting. This is not a role where you'll be managing from behind a desk. You'll be actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations while helping guide the strategic direction of the business.
Position Overview
The Controller will lead all accounting and financial operations, providing leadership to the accounting team while partnering closely with executive leadership and plant operations. This individual will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory management, compliance, and internal controls.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Leadership
Manage the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of the organization.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Develop financial forecasts and provide insights to support executive decision-making.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
Oversee all cost accounting activities and inventory valuation processes.
Analyze manufacturing costs, standard costing, and inventory variances.
Monitor Bills of Materials (BOMs), product costing, and routing structures.
Partner with operations leaders to improve profitability and manufacturing efficiency.
Coordinate product cost analysis and support pricing strategies.
Budgeting & Planning
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Assist with strategic planning, capital expenditure analysis, and long-range business plans.
Monitor business performance and recommend improvements to drive profitability.
Manage departmental budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with GAAP and sound accounting principles.
Coordinate external audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
Maintain banking relationships and manage lender reporting requirements.
Recommend and oversee accruals, reserves, and financial controls.
Business Partnership
Work closely with operations, plant management, sales, and executive leadership.
Provide financial analysis to support business growth and operational initiatives.
Assist with acquisition analysis, capital projects, and other special projects as needed.
